Thank you so much for visiting my blog.
I am originally from Canada and now make my home in Mexico. My home is in fact a shelter for 23 dogs, a whole lot of horses, two lovely cats, and a giant tortoise. There is another Hominid here at the ranch, and this is his great effort as well, but he does prefer to remain separate from the blog and so with all respect he shall.
Some 350 dogs have passed through our home and our hearts… taken off the street, out of the pound, and away from various dire situations; to be adopted out to loving forever homes. Of those 350 there are always the ones that are a challenge, the ones that tend to slip through the cracks (fences?) and are easily forgotten. I just know what their fate will be if we part with them… so we don’t part with them. These are the dogs that make up our pack of 23. They are the overly aggressive or shy, they are the ones that pee and bark too much, they have hip dysplasia and are deaf, they are mangy and have terrible breath, they have suffered and will never be completely well again, they climb onto the dining room table when I am not looking and even sometimes when I am, and what might not be so readily obvious but shines through clear to me is that they are all, each and every one of them, beautiful, special, loving, and deserving of love.
Hopefully everyone will make an appearance here eventually, but as of yet not everyone is so comfortable with the camera, or won’t slow down long enough to try it out!
I really hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Kathryn

Hi, we just discovered your blog! Looking forward to following along 🙂
WOW. Beautiful photos. Just started following, and I’m in love.
Oh my goodness…I’m on the verge of weeping. What a kind soul. The dog climbing on the dining table put me over the top. So many lost four legged souls and not nearly enough people like you. So glad you liked one of my posts, for in this vast bogging world, I might never have found you.
I too hail from Canada (London, Ontario) but have lived in California since I was a girl. We have four cats, all strays and rescues as well.
PS…one of my favorite quotes, too. I’ve used it on my blog as well.
Love this blog, will be a regular as I too love the disenfranchised and poorly behaved 😉 our animals are the light of our lives and I love that other people care when sadly so many just don’t 🙂
Woooowooowooo! So happy you help other pups like me! Glad I found your blog toowooowooooo! Ku http://www.haikubyku.com
I plan to rerurn to read your posts. I am so glad that I have found your blog. You have done marvelous work. It is costly- I know, for I have a “:bunch.” It is also a geat deal of work but satisfying to know that you you have saved lives of those that can not speak and that are at the mercy of a very cruel world. My hat is off to you. 🙂
I have read every word you have written, and loved every picture you have posted since you started your blog. You are the most gentle, caring person I know and I am very proud you are my daughter. The work you do with these little souls cannot be overstated. I love you. Dad.
