When the thunder booms and Prairie feels sure that the world is ending,
his brother and sisters (and mom) snuggle in close around him…
and within a moment or two the fear melts away
and he falls fast asleep.

Thank you Molly! We are stopping by your place next to see if you’ve got something cute and hilarious for us… it’s usually a pretty good bet!! Have a great weekend!
Ah, how lovely that he’s got such a caring family! Our dogs are thankfully not worried by thunder. I think our Irish wolfhound has a calming effect on our other doggie, as nothing seems to worry her at all!
She loves people who love dogs and is indifferent towards others, so some visitors are disappointed because she won’t play or fuss with them! She is also absolutely fearless, but it has never caused her any problems as her sovereignty is simply accepted!
Canine families are so vital. I have a mother/son and 2 other dogs. One is blind/diabetic and has thyroid disease. He always stays close to me and sleeps next to my bed every night. When he sees his mom the next morning, they have such reunions you’d think they hadn’t seen each other in weeks. Great picture above. I love a pile of sleepy dogs. 🙂
Oh heavens, Prairie looks happy as a clam all cozied in with his family. You capture the most precious moments Kathryn. Darn thunder ! Our first dog, Jasper, would chatter his teeth and shake like a leaf. On more than one occasion, I was woken up by warm and stinky ‘Buddy Breath’ on my face during an overnight thunder storm. He usually slept on his big pillow downstairs and only ventured upstairs (on the carpet) when he was scared. I’d pet him for a while and he’d settle in beside the bed. xooxox Love and Hugs K
Prairie is a lucky and loved fellow 😀

That’s so touching and so beautiful… I wish I could hold you in my arms too Prairie …

Thank you Tyler! I am so glad too, otherwise I just wouldn’t know what to do for this poor fella during storms.
