I give Wrigs a quick brushing just before we head out for walks, and although he doesn’t like it, he tolerates it. (He knows that it leads to better things.) He especially dislikes the more intensive sessions with the Furminator, so I try to do just a little at a time. I also try to be very careful not to be too “enthusiastic” with the brushing–the pins in those slicker brushes can be harsh on the skin and the teeth in the Furminator can be as well.
Your pawrents are lucky that you like being brushed Misaki, I can imagine that it is a really really important part of your routine with all of that beautiful fluffy fur you have! Most of my crew love it too, only Sweety, Pepper and Tootsie are sure that the brush is a secret torture weapon.
Man do I know how that is! All my dogs like to be brushed, but some of the ones at work don’t. It really helps if you combine brushing with yummy treats!
Hope you guys will join us for NaNo! We’re still looking for writers. π
Thanks so much for coming by to say hello and for leaving an invite to your writing project! We have been enjoying reading everyone’s instalments, but due to some major time constraints this fall we are having a hard time getting much of anything done on the computer. Maybe next time, and thanks again!
You are sending mixed signals little Sweety. I see paws up, tummy exposed and darling look of anticipation of something wonderful about to happen. I think you actually DO want to be friends with that brushβ¦hehe.
You are so right Kelly, she is the queen of mixed signals! I have been using a soft bristle brush on her for the last… forever, and we are slowly working up to a brush that actually gets some of the mess out! Oh that dreaded blue brush.
I’ve heard friends say their dogs love being brushed but you can’t prove that by Lola! if I grab the brush, even for the cat, she’s outta here. Looks like the same at your house.
We get mixed reviews on brushing around here. Some love it, and dance around waiting for their turn… and others believe that it is sheer torture. Sweety has pretty mixed feelings about it, but I think that she is slowly coming around π
I swear that Lola has nerve ending in her hair – I can’t even get down past the top layer of fur without her taking off on me, yet at the groomer they tell me she’s perfect. Of course they could just be looking for a better tip.
Hilarious!!! Hugs and nose kisses
Thanks Mumsy! Does Chancy like getting brushed? According to Sweety it is the end of the world!
Bawahwhahhwhahhaa I’d try and eat it if it came near me π Have a super weekend xxooxxx
Mollie and Alfie
I would love to see a video of that! It’s just like a mini broom right?! π Wishing you a wonderful weekend too! XOX
Furmination is an abomination across the nation we say. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
Haha, so not your favorite pastime either Molly? We have mixed thoughts on brushing around here, some love it, and some hate it! Have a great weekend!
No, its better to watch on other thingies hehe
Do you like getting brushed Easy? Most of my guys love it, even the cats love it! But according to Sweety it should be avoided at all cost π
Very wise! Everyone knows brushes have evil intentions!
π
Is sweet Wrigs good at manipulating his way out of a brushing too?

That was an interesting comment. π
Ha ha, yes, a little comment from Sweety’s point of view! π
I swear, between Sweetie and my beloved Wolfie, and of course all the rest, you have the most expressive kids I have ever seen!
Thank you so much! I will be sure to tell them… I know that they’ll be super flattered! π
Look away!!!! hehehh too cute π Hugs Fozziemum x
The ‘look away’ just kills me! … I can hardly ever proceed once she uses that tactic on me! π
Me the same..it’s too cute…they read us very well hahahaha π
LOL!!!! No π Definitely definitely do NOT make eye contact with the brush! lol Never!!
Those brushes can’t be trusted right! Lol
No! Absolutely not!! Wouldn’t trust them as far as I could kick them!! π
That’s right ignore the brush. If it sneaks up on you run away unless you get treats…
Haha, now I know for sure you and Sweety have been in contact before! :-p
hehehe, I quite like being brushed, especially if they get the itchy spot:-)
