This squeezes my heart a little… or actually, rather a lot.
It’s hard to tell size in photographs, but to give you a better idea,
these sweet little guys are in an egg box.
Normally an egg box holds a few cartons of eggs, but in this case it held:
A heating pad, a wool vest, and five chubby 10 day old puppies.
Their ears have just come down at this point,
but their eyes remain tightly closed.
It was their birthday yesterday, they turned Seven!
Sometimes I wonder what their reaction would be,
if I offered them a warm bottle now….
♥

So very sweet but not sure my peeps has fond puppy memories of me as I was awful. You still have to watch your ankles at times. Happy days. Have a fabulous Friday and no we don’t miss puppy teeth. LOL!
Best wishes Molly
You can’t have been all that bad Molly, you just look way too sweet in your photos to be an ankle biter!! But even if you were/are I am sure your peeps have forgiven you already… who could look into those big brown eyes of yours and ever be angry?!! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
Awwwwww that is so lovely..Mom has most of my puppy teeth 🙂 Will check that link out . Have a great weekend 🙂 Hugs xxooxx
Mollie and Alfie
That is so sweet your Mom kept your baby teeth! And how lucky she found them to begin with! I saw some photos of you the other day when you were just a pup… quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen! Have a great weekend xoxox
Thanks for the link to the old post. It was really nice to read, now I’m leaving the office with a smile.
I’m so afraid of ever finding a bunch of puppies abandoned, I know I’d take them all.
Have a nice weekend.
Hi Leo, thank you for checking out the other link! I am glad it left you with a smile. It’s great to know that you would take a litter of pups home with you if you ever came across one… and I am sure that Doggy would be a wonderful helper! You have a nice weekend too 🙂
Aw… they were so tiny! You’re so awesome for giving them all a loving home.
Thank you so much! I was originally going to raise them and give them all up for adoption… but you know how that can go. First nobody wanted them when they were young, and then even as they got older the only one anybody showed any interest in adopting was Wolfie, and he had really aggressive hip dysplasia from the time he was young and eventually needed 3 operations.. which no one was willing to do except us. So they all stayed 🙂
What an incredible thing you did. Bottle feeding at that tender age is truly a huge task and you did brilliantly, helping them all grow to healthy, happy dogs. Almost making me broody for a bottle feeder again but, that many in one go, well I do take my hat off to you. What little cutie pies!
Thank you! I love your knew logo, it’s just perfect! I had one other day old litter come into my life a few years ago, this time was only 3 pups, and after bottle feeding them for a day a woman from another shelter contacted me about a kind Mama lab with an excess of milk… so we introduced the tiny pups to the big Mama, and she accepted them as her very own! That was really a special thing.
That really is the perfect solution, getting them fed by another dog mom. It’s still a wonderful feeling, though, bottle feeding them. My friends laugh at me quite a bit. I don’t have any children (they all do) and yet my house always has baby bottles, sterilizer, etc in it 😀
Glad you like the logo. Finally getting things moving with Long Life. Dear Gov. regulations take forever to go through but I’ve now got the bank account, seem to have managed to get a PayPal button onto the site, found someone wonderful to redesign my logo and she’s busy with the final edits on my brochure as we speak. Have also managed to find someone to sponsor a first batch of brochure printing, so here’s hoping that I can truly start making the substantial difference I am aiming for.
This recession is making it very difficult for everyone, so my tactic is to get a lot of people doing tiny donations, rather than a few doing big ones.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for noticing the new logo. Has definitely put a smile on my face 🙂
How precious! They grow so fast!
They really do grow so fast! I remember every milestone too… the day their eyes opened, the day their tails curled (everyone, on the same day!) the day they climbed up into bed for the first time and were so excited and pleased with themselves that someone promptly peed on my pillow. haha! It was a great experience, I love being a dog Mama 🙂
Wow, that must have been exhausting! Without a doubt worth every minute, but exhausting. I raised Gerrard (The Wonder Kitty) from a few days old (abandoned) and it was a lot of work, I couldn’t image a box of puppies. What a lucky bunch that you found them.
It really was exhausting, but as you know from going through it with Gerrard…. completely worth every sleepless night!
What a wonderful story! They’ve had seven great years thanks to you, and you’ve been blessed with seven years of loving companionship. Truly special.
Thank you Susan! It really has been a special seven years for all of us 🙂
A true labour of love with that many hungry mouths to feed! Still….it is mating season for most wolf packs! I will arrange for a whole batch of furry white wolf pups to be deposited with you for your loving care and attention! Lol… They get so very hungry! And I’m sure you’ll have so much fun bottle feeding them!! HHhOOooWWwwwLLL!
I can’t imagine bottle raising a little pack of wolf pups… I bet that is fun… and dangerous for the fingers!! 🙂
Ok, I say it: Awww! Seems that the time is running faster, when you live together with a dog …. of course it’s the best time ever :o)
That is so true Easy, absolutely the best time ever!!!
Sooo cute!
Sweet little guys right! 🙂
I commented on your 03/12/12 page 🙂
Thank you for that 🙂
You have a kind heart and a wonderful soul, the five little puppies in the box say it all.
Thank you for that 🙂
Thank goodness for your kind soul Kathryn. Swooped by last night in my sleepiness and thought I’d best stop again. 10 day old, so tiny and helpless. Sweet babes with so much love to give. I’m so happy they had the chance.
Thank you Kelly, puppies and dogs in general really always do have so much love to give don’t they. I am thankful that I was given such a special opportunity with them.
They’re beautiful. I just don’t understand how someone could dump them like that.
7 years, not possible!!! Gorgeous little pupperlins.. so lucky to have you..
( born 2 months after my own Sir Coyote..! )
