She scraped it… and then ‘nursed it’ until she had a mess. You would never do something like that would you Mollie?? :-p We had lots of fun keeping her mind off that bandage, but I don’t need to tell you how many times that I turned my back or left the room for a moment only to come back and find the bandage off and shredded, or one of the other dogs racing around with it!
Have a great weekend you guys XOXOXO
Speaking of teddy bears, how are your new ones doing?? :-p
Christmas is all better now, 3 weeks of bandaging, a bunch of teddy bears, and probably too many treats (is there such a thing?) was just what the doctor ordered!
Christmas had a little scrape on the front of her leg, which she licked, nibbled and worried in general until it was of near monumental size. Normally the Elizabethan collar comes out at that point, or much earlier actually, but Christmas is deaf, and any movement or presence in her peripheral vision causes her alarm. The Elizabethan collar is a source of terror for her.
So every day (sometimes 5 or more times a day, sigh) for the last 3 weeks we bandaged her leg so the scrapes had time to heal over… and distracting her attention from that bandage became quite the game.
You will be happy to hear that a few days ago the bandage came off, the leg is good as new, and the teddy bears continue to be a source of delight… although most are rather lacking in stuffing now.
Yes those poor stuffies right! Thanks for the offer, but all the dogs actually LOVE to keep playing with them once all the stuffing is out 🙂 Is the sun shining there today?
Ah, of course, hadn’t thought how deafness impacts so many everyday things. She’s a lucky girl to have you there patiently picking up the pieces and starting again 😉 Love the image of the others dancing around with her bandage!
We had some magnificent chases around the backyard too… a meter of bandage flying in the wind, with all the dogs and mom in pursuit! 🙂 Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, Couriers and little travel buddies!
Usually it’s Christmas with her sweet little laughing face distracting us from what’s wrong! It was nice to be able to repay the favor… there are endless teddy bears for her! 🙂 Have a great weekend Poppy Seed!
A couple of stuffies always makes things seems better! Until they are ripped apart and stuffing is all over the house and somebody tries to eat it….oh, wait, maybe that’s just our house?! Glad that Christmas is better and no more bandage!
That’s our house too, don’t worry! Once they start ‘operating’ on a stuffie I just go ahead and remove all the stuffing myself, or for sure someone will eat it. Why do they have to eat it?! lol
Our dog had some surgery on her leg. We bandaged it of course, and to keep that in place we found a couple of old child’s sweaters at a second hand store that fit her just about right and that worked very well.
That is a great idea, I will have to keep it in mind for next time… as there is always a next time with this many pups around, just hopefully not anytime soon!
You look like you have forgotten all about the bandage, what has ya done to your footsie 🙂 xx00xx

Now you need to nurse the stuffies back to health, need any stuffing, I have bags of it around the house and they need a home 🙂

Happy to learn the leg is better. The bears don’t look too worse for wear. I just love Christmas with the Laughing Face! 😀

Teddy bears can heal a thousand ills! 😉
It’s so true! I bet you big tough wolves secretly have a whole bunch of nice cuddly teddy bears too right? 🙂

Hi Nola!
Thanks for coming by 🙂
We are all wishing you and your beautiful farmily a great weekend!
Hope it’s not serious and the bandage will not be there long:(
It’s already off! 3 weeks and 20 miles of bandage, but the leg is all better 🙂
That’s really great to hear:-)

I agree Misaki! You are like a gigantic teddy bear yourself… and I bet you fix all your Mom & Dads troubles for them too 🙂
