This photo is from the rainy season of this year which was back in June & July. Last week while discussing mud with Mollie (from Mollie & Alfies blog) I promised a photo to show just how much mud we get exactly. It’s fun stuff, mud …. when you’re a dog!
It can get a little scary, but water only came in the house a few times when we first moved in, and then we fixed the leaky parts and now stay safe and dry π
Great photo. It really captures the intesity of the storm and the curiosity it has created with Christmas. If only she could hear the sound of the storm and the rushing water.
I think she really must feel it quite strongly, and that’s why when it’s storming she is so curious to look out the windows…. she just wants to see exactly what is going on and then can relax into a blissful little Christmas sleep!
Holy Kathryn, that’s a wash out. Looks like a ‘head for the hills’ kind of storm. I imagine there’d be a few flooded door ways after that one. Glad you were safe. Thats a really great photo. They’re so trusting that you are there and they are safe.
It’s incredible how much rain can come down in a day or two. Suddenly all the rivers and lakes are full again, and its not like where I am from in Canada where that water disappears in a few days, here the rain we get in june lasts for almost the rest of the year.
I agree, summer rains are wonderful, and they bring so much life back to the earth. The climbing vines (mostly blue Morning Glory) spring up here almost immediately after a rain like that, and so all of a sudden the dry brown grasses of winter disappear and everywhere a person looks is green with vibrant blue flowers. It’s a magical time of year!
Haha, yes it is! We all hide inside on days like that, the dogs with their noses buried in their blankets, me with my nose in a book, and drink lots of tea π
Holy Moley, I’m not going out to play in that..BOL We have it bad in the UK at the moment..Exeata and Cornwall have been flooded, lucky I live the other end. People have been moved out of there houses and a couple have died. So sad π¦ Our blog has been down, so we couldn’t get over before xx00xx

That’s a lot of rain… I’m sure there was plenty of mud after that!
Yes! Lots of dirty paws to clean up for a while after that π
I will trade you snow for the rain! π Lovely picture, it deserves to be framed on a wall.
Thank you! I would LOVE to see all my dogs playing in the snow!
Aww, seeing mine in the snow is one of my favorite things about winter. π I wish we could send you some!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and are in the midst of a great Thanksgiving weekend!
You too Russel! Happy Thanksgiving π
Mud, Glorious Mud!
There isn’t anything quite like mud!
Scary storm! An amazing photo!!
Thank you! Yes, they can be scary here, luckily it is only ever during summer, so we know when to be ready for the big storms.
